My friend LynDee Walker tagged me once again for this fun game! Since I did Relics last time, I thought I’d focus on Portals Book 2 of “”The Thulukan Chronicles”. Join me for some hints of what’s to come for Thulu, La Fi, Reo, Jones and the rest of the gang from Relics.

What is the working title of your book?

Portals

What genre does your book fall under?

Urban Fantasy / Paranormal

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

When I did this for Relics I had chosen the following, but I’m having second thoughts on some. Thulu – Chris Hemsworth. La Fi – I originally said Natalie Portman, but I think after seeing her work that Jennifer Lawrence would be a better choice. Reo – Chace Crawford. Jones – Shemar Moore.

What is a one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Thulu, La Fi and their friends are drawn into ancient wars, recent shootings and various kidnappings – on Earth and off.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

About ten weeks, give or take. I wrote part during a couple weeks in June, 2012, and finished it up in August and September, 2012.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Possibly Kim Harrison’s “The Hollows” series.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

Thulu, La Fi and their friends weren’t done with me yet. Plus, I’m fascinated by the ways in which humanity could be changed by the return of magic and mythical beings to Earth. Viewing those changes through my characters’ eyes and finding out what happens next is too much fun to resist.

What else about your book might pique a reader’s interest?

For the first time Thulu, La Fi and Reo go off-world and we see more of the cultures of the daemons, as well as the Light Ones. We also see a lot more of how the return of magic is affecting the people of Earth.

When and how will it be published?

Portals is still in revisions at the time of this post.
