blue about authorr

Jennifer Adele

author pic 2Jennifer Adele is an independent author and nature gal, whose sense of adventure is only matched by her predilection for the magical and macabre. Her love of the written word in its various forms and her fascination with the symbolism inherent in all languages provides an ancient, deep, and eclectic background to her works. She is also an active lecturer and educator for many local groups and public education venues. Her written works on broad-based educational topics, plants, animals, symbolism, and a wide range of nature-based subjects, as well as her creative writings and fiction, have been frequently featured in national and international publications.

On a more personal note, Jennifer is mom to two dogs and three cats and greatly enjoys nature hikes, organic art, photography, cooking, painting, wild crafting, and travel.

Book Blast – Sorrow’s Point by Danielle DeVor

LgSorrowsPoint

Not all exorcists are created equal- especially those that are “marked”.

When defrocked ex-priest, Jimmy Holiday, agrees to help an old friend with his sick daughter, Lucy, Jimmy doesn’t expect the horrors that await him. Blackmoor, his friend’s new residence, rests upon the outskirts of the town of Sorrow’s Point. The mansion’s history of magic, mayhem, and death makes it almost a living thing – a haunted mansion straight out of Flowers in the Attic. Jimmy must decide if Lucy is only ill, or if the haunting of the house and her apparent possession is real.

After the house appears to affect him as well; seeing colors of magic when rooms of the house are warded by a witch and his voice taking on a power he doesn’t understand, Jimmy is met by a transient who tells him he has “the Mark”. Whatever being “marked” means, Jimmy doesn’t care. All he wants to do is help Lucy. Helping Lucy means performing the exorcism.

Jimmy knows the ceremony, but it’s belief that matters. And if a demon is using a little girl as a meatsuit, his faith had better be strong enough to kick it back to Hell. Otherwise, he might damn them both.

About Danielle DeVor

Danielle DeVor has been on a writing roll this year! With the release of Tail of the Devil and Constructing Marcus she already has two books out. You can find out about them at these links: Tail of the Devil and Constructing Marcus. But that’s not enough for the intrepid author and she’s now added Sorrow’s Point to her list.

Since Danielle has been a guest here before, she has graciously provided me with some fun facts we didn’t know before:

1. Loves horehound candy
2. Once wanted to be, in no particular order, a rock star, a ballerina, a lawyer, a special effects make-up artist, and a director.
3. Is allergic to hay but not horses
4. While loving everything horror, ironically, my favorite movie is The Breakfast Club.

You can find Sorrow’s Point at Amazon.

About Danielle DeVor

Danielle DeVor spent her early years fantasizing about vampires and watching “Salem’s Lot” way too many times. After living briefly in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she moved back to her hometown to write. When not writing and reading about weird things, you will find her hanging out at the nearest coffee shop, enjoying a mocha frappuccino.

In the Spotlight – Simon Okill

Not too long ago I featured a cover reveal for a new novel, Luna Sanguis, a blood-red-hot, 18+ trip to the darker side. Today, the man behind the book, the wonderful and generous Simon Okill, has joined me to share some things about himself and his new novel.

About Simon Okill in His Own Words

I live with my wife, Shirlee Anne and our cat, in a pretty coastal town in South Wales, UK. We both love Stephen King and had read many of his books and enjoyed their transition to the screen. Due to our love of books, my wife and I dabbled in writing for some years as a hobby. We were approached by a film company to write a paranormal TV series. We struggled most nights and all through weekends to come up with 22 episodes only for the company to go bust. Then after an accident at work, I was forced into early retirement due to disability. I used my newfound skills as a writer to help with my depression. We decided to use our TV series episodes as templates for film scripts and novels. My writing became more serious as certain A-list actors expressed interest in my scripts and my debut novel Nobody Loves a Bigfoot Like a Bigfoot Babe was accepted by Christopher Matthews Publishing after so many British publishers turned it down.
