Relics – Update

I’m less than four weeks out from the release of my first book, the Urban Fantasy, Relics. I’m having a blast, getting blog tours and signing events set up. I’m enjoying every step of this magical process! I saw my cover art the other day and I’m over the moon because it’s so gorgeous! Not that I’m biased or anything.

I have live events scheduled as follows:

May 9 – Great Basin College, Pahrump, NV – 6 PM – Reading and Book Signing

May 11 – Book Boutique, Henderson, NV – Noon – 2 PM – Book Signing

May 18 – Barnes & Noble – 1 PM – 4 PM – Book Signing

May 25 – Pahrump Community Library – 11 AM – 1 PM – Book Signing

I’ll also be posting my online blog stops when I get them. I’ve booked Bewitching Book Tours and I’ll be making a lot of stops on the tour. I’ll be having an online event with four of the fabulous writers from my publishing house, Crescent Moon Press. I’ll be doing the podcast, MythBehaving, with host Carla Clifton and special guest host, LynDee Walker the first week in May. Yes, that’s the show I usually co-host, but that day they will turn the tables and I will be in the hot seat. I’ll have an actual schedule up in the near future, so be sure to check back! Thanks to everyone who has supported me and helped me make my dream a reality!

Cover Reveal – The Grave Winner

It’s always so exciting when I get to reveal a new cover. The Grave Winner by Lindsey R. Loucks is due out May 15, 2013. Be sure to check it out! I know I will.

Single tree in field during winter 2

About The Grave Winner

Leigh Baxton is terrified her mom will come back from the dead — just like the prom queen did.

While the town goes beehive over the news, Leigh bikes to the local cemetery and buries some of her mom’s things in her grave to keep her there. When the hot and mysterious caretaker warns her not to give gifts to the dead, Leigh cranks up her punk music and keeps digging.

She should have listened.

Two dead sorceresses evicted the prom queen from her grave to bury someone who offered certain gifts. Bury them alive, that is, then resurrect them to create a trio of undead powerful enough to free the darkest sorceress ever from her prison inside the earth.

With help from the caretaker and the dead prom queen, Leigh must find out what’s so special about the gifts she gave, and why the sorceresses are stalking her and her little sister. If she doesn’t  she’ll either lose another loved one or have to give the ultimate gift to the dead – herself.

In the Spotlight – Jody A. Kessler

032

Yay, Jody A. Kessler has stopped by to chat today! I recently had the pleasure of reading her debut novel, Death Lies Between Us. Intriguing premise, interesting characters and a story that kept me guessing, also managed to keep me awake turning those pages! Or rather flicking the pages on my Kindle. Her New Adult novel gives a fascinating and very different spin on the Angel of Death. It’s exciting to have her in today’s spotlight!

Jody enjoys writing paranormal novels and is a member of Pikes Peak Writers. She is a yoga instructor, Reiki Master, and a graduate from the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy. When she took an extended leave from her massage practice to stay at home with her newborn she returned to her first true passion —writing. She spends most of her time being a mother, writing, and teaching yoga, but also likes going to concerts, hiking, practicing herbal medicine, and reading anything that catches her interest. Jody lives in the mountains of Colorado with her family.

In the Spotlight – Shawna Romkey

SR (83)

It’s a great pleasure to host Shawna Romkey today. I thoroughly enjoyed her debut YA novel, Speak of the Devil, and love this chance to get to know the author a little better.

Shawna grew up around farms in the heart of Missouri but went to the University of Kansas, was raised in the US but now lives on the ocean in Nova Scotia with her husband, two sons, two rescue dogs and one overgrown puppy from hell. She’s a non-conformist who follows her heart.

She has her BA in creative writing from the University of Kansas where one of her plays was chosen by her creative writing professor to be produced locally, and two of her short stories were published in a university creative arts handbook.  She earned her MA in English from Central Missouri State University where she wrote a novel as her thesis.

She’s taught English at the university and secondary levels for close to twenty years and can’t quite fathom how all of her students have grown up, yet she’s managed to stay the same.  She’s a huge geek and fan of Xena, Buffy and all kick ass women, and loves to write stories that have strong female characters.

In the Spotlight – Michelle Browne

Brown picAuthor Michelle Browne sounds charming, quirky and fun – just the kind of person I’d love to spend time  hanging out with. She writes a blend of SF, horror and fantasy. That’s a win for me because those are my favorite genres. Her collection The Loved, The Lost, The Dreaming includes a full length novel, as well as some spooky short stories. Join me as we get to know more about Michelle and her new book.

Michelle is a published science fiction author with a love for talking about the end of the world, silver jewellery, nightmares, and chocolate. She came from a smallish town in Southern Alberta and now lives in Calgary with her partner. When they’re not saving the world from hipsters or riding their bear cavalry to work, they can be found on the internet or with their friends.

The Thulukan Agency

thulu-lafie

On Facebook, I started a page for the series, “The Thulukan Chronicles”. It was suggested by my good friend and beta reader, Jennifer, to use a format where the characters speak and allow folks to ask questions of the characters. Intriguing idea, I thought, so now the page is called “The Thulukan Agency”. This page will allow readers of the book, Relics, to engage “directly” with La Fi, Thulu, Reo and the other characters in my book.

Feel free to stop by and ask questions. La Fi was entirely too anxious to get control of that page, if you ask me. She has already posted the advertisement she and Thulu used to contact the Supernatural. She also has a rather cryptic and foreboding poster regarding being Thulukanized and joining Team Thulukan. For the rest of us the poster represents a street team, so feel free to join that as well. I doubt that’s what La Fi had in mind, though.
