In the Spotlight – Colby Marshall

It’s always a treat to chat with the talented and lovely Colby Marshall. A lady of many interests, Colby is another friend who has recently released her debut novel. She joins us today to talk about her recent release, Chain of Command.

Writer by day, ballroom dancer and choreographer by night, Colby has a tendency to turn every hobby she has into a job, thus ensuring that she is a perpetual workaholic.  In addition to her 9,502 regular jobs, she is also a contributing columnist for M Food and Culture magazine and is a proud member of International Thriller Writers and Sisters in Crime.  She is actively involved in local theatres as a choreographer as well as sometimes indulges her prima donna side by taking the stage as an actress.  She lives in Georgia with her family, two mutts, and an array of cats that, if she were a bit older, would qualify her immediately for crazy cat lady status.  Her debut thriller, Chain of Command is now available, and the second book in her McKenzie McClendon series, The Trade, is due for publication by Stairway Press in June 2013.

Relics, Book 1 of The Thulukan Chronicles

Soon, oh so soon, my friends, my first book will be released. I’ve been busily doing all sorts of writerly duties getting ready for the release. Things like arrangling book launch parties and blog tours and working on the book trailer and street team. So much to do and it’s all so terribly exciting!

It’s been pointed out to me several times, but I’m not likely to forget it anyway. “You only have your first book release once.”  As I’ve said before, I’m going to enjoy every little moment of it, too!

Oh sure, sometimes the process is scary or glitchy or worrisome. But all I have to do is remind myself that in only weeks, my book will be out there. I’m actually going to be published!

And by that awesome publisher, Crescent Moon Press. It’s sheer joy to be with CMP. The support from my fellow authors is incredible and the feeling of family runs strong there. The staff is beyond understanding, supportive and caring.  I’m  very lucky and I know it!

So I’m hanging on for a wild ride. The train has left the station and is picking up speed. My book is becoming even more real every day. Soon, oh so soon, my friends!

In the Spotlight – Constance Phillips

Connie

Featuring author Constance Phillips and her new book, Resurrecting Harry, is a real treat! I had the pleasure of reading this beautiful story and was captivated by the characters, story and the writing itself.

Constance Phillips lives in Ohio with her husband, two ready-to-leave-the-nest children, and four canine kids. Her perfect fantasy vacation would involve hunting Dracula across Europe with her daughter, who also digs that kind of stuff. When she’s not writing about fairies, shifters, vamps, and guardian angels, she’s working side-by-side with her husband in their hardwood flooring business.

Constance is actively involved in her local Romance Writers of America chapter (MVRWA) and the Southeast Michigan chapter of the United States Pony Club. When not writing or enjoying the outdoors, she loves reality television or can be found at a Rick Springfield concert (just look for the pink Converse high tops).

In the Spotlight – Jean Murray

webphoto

Today’s featured author is the fascinating Jean Murray. I’m proud to know Jean as a fellow author at Crescent Moon Press and she is an inspiration, as well as a generous person. Jean brings a wonderful new spin to the paranormal world with her Egyptian Underworld gods.  She broke ground in the paranormal romance genre with Soul Reborn and now continues the “Key to the Cursed” journey with Soul Awakened.

In her pursuit of a nursing degree, Jean Murray aspired to see the world and joined the Navy. At the end of 2011 she said a heart-breaking goodbye to her Navy family and retired after twenty years of military service. Although her dreams of writing full time have yet to come true, she continues her writing journey and draws inspiration from her travels abroad. She enjoys spending time with her family and of course, writing about the “Carrigan sisters and their mates, Gods of the Underworld,” to bring you the next installment of the Key to the Cursed series.

In the Spotlight – Genevieve Dewey

image001

It’s a pleasure to welcome Genevieve Dewey, author of The Downey Trilogy. Described as “one part The Godfather, two parts Emma and a dash of Casablanca mixed together, ‘First, I Love You’ isn’t a detective novel, a gangster novel, a mystery, a romance or a family saga. It’s a little of all of the above.” I’m looking forward to reading these books!

Genevieve is also the author of the short stories The Bird Day Battalion & The V-Day Aversion. She is a wife, mother, sister, friend and anthropologist. She loves intelligent debates but has zero tolerance for uninformed opinions (unless it’s stated up front it is based upon an irrational belief in which case props for your honesty!)

She was raised mostly in Nebraska and partly in Arizona. Her parents are from Chicago. Don’t get her started on the subject of Chicago unless you want to be bored to death about how awesome Chicago is.

She got her Bachelors in Anthropology from Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and a Masters degree from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!). She worked as an Applied Anthropologist for years (even ran her own research company for awhile) before deciding to be a stay at home mom.

She has three insanely brilliant and diabolical children and an incredibly funny and patient husband who is not a Dewey (for which he is thankful because that would be gross) and who hates Chicago (for which his wife forgives him on account of the funny and patient part).

In the Spotlight – Rebecca Trogner

Rebecca Trogner Picture

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Rebecca Trogner as today’s featured author. Rebecca’s novel, The Last Keeper’s Daughter, is a fascinating read that keeps you engrossed with every page.

Rebecca lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and frequently crosses the Blue Ridge Mountains that were the inspiration for Krieger’s home. She always dreamed of being a writer, but got sidetracked by the day-to-day adventures of life. With the encouragement of her family, she has finished her first novel and is currently writing the next book in The Last Keeper’s Daughter series. Rebecca lives with her husband and son, and a rescue dog named Giblet. Read More
