BlacknessTakesOver Small

Shannon Kelly’s life has been anything but typical.
Her life has been altered viciously at the hands of others twice.

However horrible they have been, it’s these changes that have given her a family and career…now possibly love.
The last thirteen years she has been supported and loved by her protector, her entertainer, and her comforter, but never a lover.

When Dylan Kellerman enters Shannon’s life he changes its course in more ways than one.
He gives her hope and promise of a future she was convinced wasn’t attainable.

Just as she begins to believe she has finally turned her life into something she can build a future on…blackness takes over.

Hunter in her own words:

Ms Jones Official 11-13

The art form I create when writing is much more interesting than anything you will ever know or learn about me. However, since you ask, I have lived in Tennessee and Georgia my entire life, except for one “lost summer” spent in Los Angeles. I was always a complex kid. My first published stories were for a local underground rock publication in Nashville. Since then, I have published articles on music, fashion, art, travel and history.

Currently, I have a music/entertainment blog @ExPatsPost.com. My debut novella, Fables of the Reconstruction, was published in 2012. I have a series of sexy vignettes on Amazon called Tales from a New Amsterdam. Moon Rose Publishing included my novella, Magic in Memphis, in their anthology, A Celtic Tapestry in March 2013. Magic in Memphis is currently available as a short story on Amazon.

Edgar Allan Poe and Anne Rice have always fascinated me, although like any Southern girl, I will always idolize Margaret Mitchell for writing Gone With The Wind. I also adore the works of John Grisham, and own a huge selection of his books. I live in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia with my husband, my books, too many clothes, too many shoes and way too many stacks of notepads and journals.

Tréa – Calendar Girl

Tréa

Trea Headshot White

Over the years I’ve taken hundreds of pictures of my long-haired chihuahua, Tréa. Back in 2006, I put together the first of her calendars for friends and family Christmas presents. Today I took some of my fave pics of her and put together a little video. She’s done a lot, this little girl. Coming in at about four pounds these days, she worked over 250 volunteer hours at an assisted living home, festivals and other special events.

At the assisted living home, she had an uncanny knowledge of who needed her to jump up in their lap for some love and petting. She always made the rounds and greeted everyone in the common rooms…staff and residents alike. Only then did she go back and pick certain people she would visit with for ten to fifteen minutes before moving on to the next one.  I ahve no idea how she chose who to visit, but they were always the ones most in need of some extra loves. One lady used to squeeze her so tight we had to monitor her and remind her not to squeeze the puppy too much. Yet, every week, Tréa went back to the elderly woman and allowed her to squeeze and love her.

Always friendly, sweet and gentle, she has been one of the lights of my life. She’s coming up on her 14th birthday and still dashes around, playing, although not as long or as often as times past. Her eyesight may be going dim and her hearing may be selective at times, but she is one special little girl. These days, she’s retired and only does an event now and then.  I hope you enjoy her pictures in the video as much as I did taking them and sharing them. There’s even a cameo appearance by Chloe the first day I got her.

It’s a pleasure to welcome Thomas to the blog today. I’m currently listening to the audio version of his novel, Sounds of Wars. This historical fiction debut gives the reader an evocative, gritty look at the war in Iraq.

SYNOPSIS:

Follows the secretive exploits of four high school juniors – Kitty, Olivia, Margot and Bree – at an exclusive Catholic prep school.

To all outward appearances, the girls barely know each other. At best, they don’t move in the same social circles; at worst, they’re overtly hostile.

Margot Mejia – academically ranked number two in her class, Margot is a focused overachiever bound for the Ivy League.

Kitty Li – captain of the California state and national champion varsity girls’ volleyball team, she’s been recruited by a dozen colleges and has dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal.

Olivia Hayes – popular star of the drama program, she’s been voted “most eligible bachelorette” two years running in the high school yearbook and has an almost lethal combination of beauty and charm.

Bree Deringer – outcast, misfit and the kind of girl you don’t want to meet in a dark alley, the stop sign red-haired punk is a constant thorn in the side of teachers and school administrators alike.

Different goals, different friends, different lives, but the girls share a secret no one would ever guess. They are members of Don’t Get Mad, a society specializing in seeking revenge for fellow students who have been silently victimized by their peers. Each girl has her own reason for joining the group, her own set of demons to assuage by evening the score for someone else. And though school administration is desperate to find out who is behind the DGM “events”, the girls have managed to keep their secret well hidden.

That is until one of their targets – a douchebag senior who took advantage of a drunk underclassman during a house party, videotaped it on his phone, and posted it on YouTube – turns up dead, and DGM is implicated in the murder.

Now the girls don’t know who to trust, and as their tenuous alliance begins to crumble, the secrets they’ve hidden for so long might be their ultimate undoing.
