Spells & Chills: Fantasy and Paranormal Panel. That’s the very cool name of the panel I’ll be on this coming Saturday at 10 AM. Yep, I’ll be back in Southern California at the Big Orange Book Festival, hosted by Chapman University. The festival actually takes place over three days, October 11-13, with lots of great authors including Tim Powers, James P. Blaylock, Kim Stanley Robinson and Raymond E. Feist. Best of all, this fabulous festival is FREE!

And it’s not just the sci fi/ fantasy crowd. There are some fabulous authors from many other genres including Romance, Mysteries, Thrillers, Non-Fiction and many others.

So, if you’re in So Cal, please mark your calendar for this weekend. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to stop by my own panel and say hi!

In the Spotlight – Jams N. Roses

Me in hat

Jams N. Roses is my special guest today. Jams and I belong to the same writers group and he’s a kind, supportive friend, with a wicked sense of humor. Today we are highlighting his novel, Finding Her Feet. Please join me to find out more about this intriguing author.

About Jams N. Roses

Jams N. Roses is a father of one and grew up in Hertfordshire, England. He has spent a few years living on the Costa del Sol, Spain, and currently resides in Nice, France.

He primarily writes novels that are steeped in crime with a psychological twist, but has a naughty sense of humour that can sneak its way into his work, so much so that his third of four releases, Extremely England is a hilarious, satirical comedy.

Today’s guest is from the world of poetry. Ollie Lambert has a unique voice and with his first poetry collection, Quintessensual, published at only sixteen years old, we can expect even greater things from this young author.

About Ollie Lambert

Ollie Lambert is a sixteen-year-old poet from Sussex. His poetry writing stemmed from a love for music and song-writing in particular. He found that his lyrics took the form of poetry in many respects so decided to try his hand at some poetic pieces.  To get criticism on his work he joined a writing site, where he received feedback and help on refining his poetry technique. Ever since he has won competitions for his poetry, website, and his work online in general. Although his age may be considered a disadvantage, he see’s it as an opportunity to learn from others and hopefully by starting out young, his writing journey will become an extended one.

In the Spotlight – C.E. Kilgore

Kilgore authorRight now I’m reading Ghost in the Machine from the “Corwint Central Agent Files” series by C.E. Kilgore. I’m enjoying this intriguing sci fi novel and it’s a pleasure to welcome the author here today to talk about the recently released third book in series, Tracing the Stars.

 About C.E. Kilgore

C.E. Kilgore has always had a love of romantic stories and science fiction. Although active in the writing community during her undergraduate studies, she chose to focus on her love of history and culture. Graduating with an HBA in History and a BA in Cultural Anthropology, she puts a deep emphasis on creating characters and environments within her writing that are full of both culture and history. The relationship development between characters and the worlds they live in is also an important aspect of her stories. Sarcasm, comedy, hidden “modern” references and subtle hints at underlined universal meanings are common within her writing style, but there is always plenty of action and a darker side lurking just around the corner.
